ABOUT ABOUT

With many organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland facing difficulties with absenteeism and employee health and wellbeing, workplace health has become a high priority for many.  Benefits to organisations who invest in health and wellbeing initiatives to support staff include increased productivity through better motivated employees, greater job satisfaction and team morale, fewer sickness related costs, and a positive reputation for your company, leading to staff retention and recruitment.

This free workshop will give you a background to the current picture of health and wellbeing in our local workplaces and provide advice / guidance for engaging with employees and implementing health and wellbeing initiatives to support staff to improve their health.

You will be provided with an overview of the vision for improving the health of local workplaces, and the facts and figures for absenteeism, presenteeism and the incidence of poor physical and mental health amongst our workers. We will outline the Leicestershire and Rutland Sport (LRS) Wellbeing @Work support package, which includes a FREE* Workplace Health Needs Assessment (developed by Public Health England and Healthy Working Futures, 2017) to support business to gauge the wellbeing status of their employees. (Eligibility criteria applies).

In addition, we will also be sharing good practice from those organisations who have accessed the Wellbeing @Work package in the last 12 months, and how the support provided has added value to the health of their workplace. They will share how the insight they have gained from the Workplace Health Needs Assessment has guided them in their strategy and action plan development to ensure that health and wellbeing interventions are targeted and evidence-based.

The event will also include a small marketplace expo following the main talk where businesses can meet a range of local health providers specialising in various areas of health and wellbeing and can find out how as a business they can access their local services.

The workshop will end with an opportunity to ‘netwalk’ with fellow delegates and make a pledge to improve your organisations health and wellbeing.

The event is aimed at HR professionals, general managers, health and safety officers, or voluntary workplace health champions – anyone with a remit for employee health and wellbeing and who is looking for support to implement a health and wellbeing action plan or intervention is encouraged to attend.

The LRS Wellbeing @Work package is available to all businesses of any size and type, and from any sector. We will be sharing good practice from both the private and public sector. Elements of the Wellbeing @Work package are free to eligible* Leicestershire businesses.
